CONWAY, S.C.—Former President Donald Trump came to Coastal Carolina University for a rally last Saturday, and he did not hold back in criticizing President Joe Biden and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.
Throughout his more than 90-minute speech, Trump called out Biden for his political decisions, including initiatives at the Mexican border.
“What crooked Joe is doing to our border is a crime against this nation,” Trump said.
He also did not hesitate to comment on Biden’s mental state.
“This guy can’t put two sentences together, he can’t even find his way off the stage,” Trump said.
Trump did not spare Haley from criticism either. He mocked her entering the presidential race after saying for years that she would never run against him.
Trump then questioned where Haley’s husband was while she was on the campaign trail. Haley fired back on X, writing that her husband “is deployed serving our country, something [Trump] knows nothing about.”
Republican Kim Parsons is not against the idea of Haley becoming president, but her vote is for Trump.
“I don’t think this is the time for Nikki Haley,” Parsons said. “I think she should step down and wait for another four years, and then she might have a really good shot.”
Near the end of his rally, Trump focused on what he plans to do if he gets back in office.
“On day one I will sign a new executive order to cut federal funding for any school pushing critical race theory [or] transgender insanity,” Trump said.
Trump ended the rally reminding people to vote in the primary. South Carolina’s Republican primary is on February 24, but early voting is open until February 23.
