COLUMBIA, S.C.- If you have been to the South Carolina State Fair, you would know that it is infamous for its pig racing and swimming shows.

Fairgoer Josh Dworjanyn says the Swifty Swine Swimming and Racing Pig Show is an event he does not miss.

“The pig racing is definitely one of the top attractions, we come and see it every time.”

The event includes multiple races with pigs of various sizes speeding around the track, all for the ultimate prize of an Oreo Cookie.

There is a mid-event performance by Swifty the swimming pig, who plunges into a miniature tank of water and swims to the other side.

Once the races are over, you will get the chance for a picture with a baby piglet; a fan favorite but it will cost you $5

For Swifty Swine Pig Handler, Elouise Pool, the fair is highlight of her year. “My favorite part of this is, of course, the pigs.”

The show happens multiple times a day and will continue until closing day, October 20.

You can find the track in front of Abernathy Arena down Academic Avenue.
