Karen McGowan took a hobby she started as a child and grew it into a skill: giving needy children overseas the gift of a new dress.
McGowan, a skilled seamstress and dress designer who lives in North Augusta, now works with a team of volunteers to make dresses that are distributed in underdeveloped countries via Samaritan’s Purse: Operation Christmas Child.
