The Wrkt Pilates studio on Devine Street in Columbia has tailored its classes to USC students, becoming a go-to spot for a quick workout – maybe even one taught by a fellow student.

Isabella Smith, a student at USC and a member of the studio, thinks there are many benefits and a great vibe to The Wrkt.

“I love the ambience of the studio,” Isabella said, “I love having open windows and the luxury feeling.”

Prices and certain instructors also play a role at the business that opened in 2019.

“I enjoy the instructors and their workouts, and I feel like compared to other studios, The Wrkt is a better price.”

Isabella’s energy has increased throughout the entire day since she started there in January 2025. She has noticed she looks and feels much stronger.

A USC senior and an instructor, Steeley Roberts, got into Pilates in fall 2023 to try something new. She has now been an instructor for almost a year.

“The sense of calmness and clarity that comes after a class is like a reset for both my body and mind,” Roberts said.

She thinks that being a student and an instructor provides you the best of both worlds.

“You’ll not only refine Pilates skills but step into a community of like-minded fitness enthusiasts who share a passion for health and wellness,” she said.

Another perk of The Wrkt is its love for the students, members say.

“We offer a monthly, unlimited student discount that is open to both locations,” she said. “You can cancel or pause it at any time.”

Another student and instructor, Maia Fitch, said Pilates has impacted her life for the better.

“The intensity pushes me past my limits, and every shake reminds me of how strong I really am,” she said. “It’s more than a workout – it’s discipline and power, all in one.”
